Voices of the Valley: Utah County Mayors Discuss Growth and Transportation | Valley Crossroads Chamber
Valley Crossroads Chamber | March 5 Event Recap

On March 5, the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce hosted another impactful Voices of the Valley event at the Aldara Clubhouse in Saratoga Springs, bringing together business leaders, public officials, and community members to discuss the future of the rapidly growing Valley Crossroads region of Utah County.
Sponsored by Aldara Apartments, the event created an open forum where business owners and residents could hear directly from local leaders about key issues affecting Cedar Fort, Fairfield, Eagle Mountain, and Saratoga Springs.
The Voices of the Valley series is designed to connect the business community with policymakers, fostering collaboration and transparency as the region continues to experience significant population and economic growth.
Local Mayors Share Vision for Their Communities
The panel featured four mayors representing cities across the Valley Crossroads region:
- Mayor Jared Gray — Cedar Fort
- Mayor Hollie McKinney — Fairfield
- Mayor Chris Carn — Eagle Mountain
- Mayor Wyatt Cook — Saratoga Springs
Each mayor shared insights into the opportunities and challenges their cities are facing as growth continues across western Utah County.
Infrastructure and Regional Planning
One of the central topics of discussion was infrastructure planning and how regional partnerships help cities keep pace with rapid development.
The mayors discussed the importance of collaboration with organizations such as:
- Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG)
- Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT)
These partnerships play a critical role in coordinating road improvements, utilities, and long-term development planning throughout the Valley Crossroads region.
With thousands of new residents moving into Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, and surrounding communities each year, strategic infrastructure investment will be key to supporting both residents and businesses.
Public Transportation Updates for the Valley Crossroads Region
Another highlight of the event was an update from Utah County Commissioner Skyler Beltran, who was also in attendance.
Commissioner Beltran shared news about potential new public transportation options coming to the Valley Crossroads region as the population continues to grow.
Expanded transportation solutions could help connect residents to jobs, education, and business centers throughout Utah County while easing congestion and improving regional mobility.
The discussion emphasized how collaboration between cities, the county, and transportation agencies will be critical to making these improvements possible.
Strengthening Business and Government Collaboration
Events like Voices of the Valley highlight the Chamber’s role in connecting business leaders with local government.
By bringing together elected officials and the business community, the Valley Crossroads Chamber creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue that helps shape the region’s future.
These conversations allow community leaders to:
- Share updates on city planning and development
- Address concerns from the business community
- Collaborate on solutions that support economic growth
As the Valley Crossroads region continues to grow, these discussions will play an increasingly important role in ensuring development remains sustainable and beneficial for residents and businesses alike.
